TTL Summer 2015 MKAL

I’m getting ready to start a new knitting project, and I have no idea what I’m doing.

No, really. I’m taking part in the Through The Loops Mystery Shawl Knit-a-Long. So, I know it’s a shawl. A half-pi shawl, whatever that means. And I know what colors it will be, since I picked the yarn for it. Dragonfly Fibers’ Birch for the main color, and their Mushroom Hunting for the contrast color. Both in Pixie, which is a fingering weight yarn.

But beyond that? Not a clue. Not until June 1st, when the first pattern clue is released.

I haven’t knitted a shawl before — scarves and hats, yes, but no shawls — and I’ve never done a mystery knitalong. Should be fun. πŸ™‚ At absolute worst, if I totally muck it up, I can always frog the shawl and use the yarn for something else. That’s one of the things I love about knitting. No matter how bad you screw up, you can always salvage it. Even if you rip everything out and start over from scratch on something completely different. πŸ™‚
