I’m getting ready to start a new knitting project, and I have no idea what I’m doing.
No, really. I’m taking part in the Through The Loops Mystery Shawl Knit-a-Long. So, I know it’s a shawl. A half-pi shawl, whatever that means. And I know what colors it will be, since I picked the yarn for it. Dragonfly Fibers’ Birch for the main color, and their Mushroom Hunting for the contrast color. Both in Pixie, which is a fingering weight yarn.
But beyond that? Not a clue. Not until June 1st, when the first pattern clue is released.
I haven’t knitted a shawl before — scarves and hats, yes, but no shawls — and I’ve never done a mystery knitalong. Should be fun. π At absolute worst, if I totally muck it up, I can always frog the shawl and use the yarn for something else. That’s one of the things I love about knitting. No matter how bad you screw up, you can always salvage it. Even if you rip everything out and start over from scratch on something completely different. π
