And so out of the blue.<\/p>\n<p>I designed this pendant months ago. It&#8217;s taken me until now to be able to film this video. I still might not have done it, but today is her birthday, so I wanted to do something special to remember her by. Not that I could ever forget Yelena.<\/p>\n<p>One morning last week, as I was getting ready to make this video, our thirteen-year-old cat Whateley was acting like she didn&#8217;t feel good. We took her to the vet right away. At first they thought it was a flare up of her IBD, but it turned out she was in kidney failure.<\/p>\n<p>Treatment for it wasn&#8217;t working, so we went to the vet&#8217;s office, petted her and brushed her for a very long time, then let her go.<\/p>\n<p>Our hearts are broken. We miss both of these girls very much.<\/p>\n<p>We still have three cats of our own in the house, plus foster kittens with their mama. But the house feels emptier than it should.<\/p>\n<p>Yelena and Whateley were both rescued by ARFP in Greensboro, NC, when they were kittens.
