About Me

biocollage.pngI write stories. It’s what I do. I make up worlds where most of us wouldn’t want to go, then force characters who’ve rarely done anything wrong to suffer in them. Sometimes the characters survive; sometimes they don’t. I feel very bad about it when they don’t.

I co-wrote Cthulhu Invictus and the Cthulhu Invictus Companion, sourcebooks for the Call of Cthulhu roleplaying game, and have had short stories published in magazines such as The Storyteller and Tales of the Talisman.

Although I was barely in my teens when I got my first computer (a Commodore 64 with Datasette drive) and have no fewer than four working computers in my home, I write my first drafts longhand with a fountain pen. I’ve also learned to restore fountain pens, and might someday try selling them instead of simply giving them away.

I’ve recently become addicted to knitting and science, particularly astrophysics. When the weather’s nice — and even sometimes when it’s not — you can also find me using billion dollar satellites to find tupperware in the woods or tiny magnets on telephone poles. Better known as geocaching.

I live in North Carolina with my husband and Invictus co-author, Chad Bowser and our four cats.

I’m @andimn on Twitter. You’re more than welcome to follow me. I tweet about things I’m researching for stories, like pocketwatches, spiders, trains, and fungi. Or about things that interest me, like fountain pens, cats, or art. I only occasionally tweet about food.
